The mission of Easter Seals is to provide exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs and their families have the same opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities.  We are the leading non-profit service provider for individuals with autism, intellectual and physical disabilities and other needs.  Through education, training and support services, Easter Seals Iowa creates life changing solutions.

For more than 86 years, we have been offering help and hope to children and adults living with disabilities and the families who love them.  Our clients are children, teens and adults who live with mental illnesses, intellectual disabilities, Autism, developmental disabilities and brain injuries.

Our focus is on removing barriers and providing support that allows each person to accomplish their goals and their dreams, our focus is not on their diagnosis.  To put it simply, we say, “yes, you can” when others say “no, you can’t.”  We provide the hope when the situation seems hopeless, and we believe in the possibilities.

Locally, Easter Seals Iowa currently offers 15 different program lines to meet the needs of Iowans with disabilities and carry out the overall Easter Seals mission.  A highlight of Easter Seals Iowa’s programming is Camp Sunnyside.  Camp Sunnyside is a place that offers opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.  Many campers have their first chance to go swimming, ride a horse, roast marshmallows, canoe, climb the rock wall and make friends.  Camp Sunnyside offers Day and Resident camp to over 600 campers each year.  Many Sunnyside campers come back year after year.  Camp Sunnyside is truly a magical place where everyone can build confidence and believe anything is possible!
